|CLC’s innovative MELTVAK™ line of vacuum furnace systems is specially designed to support high production high vacuum melting and casting operations. Featuring a highly efficient induction melting process, the MELTVAK™ product line produces the highest quality alloys and pure metallic castings for critical aerospace and high technological industrial applications.
An CLC MELTVAK™ system can meet the production needs of pilot plants and research organizations and it can achieve the highest throughput capacities of production plants of many tons per day. High vacuum pumping systems are constructed to support process pressures to 10-7 torr with the use of a wide selection of high vacuum diffusion pumps, and others. Advanced semi-automatic operations are achieved with vacuum isolated mold-lock chambers and valved billet charging and late alloy additions accessories.
CLC’s standard product line now features graphical man-machine interface (MMI) control centers utilizing IBM/Windows based software such as Wonderware InTouch, Intellution Fix-MMI, and other World renown software packages.CLC’s state-of-the-art MMI Control Centers are specially designed to support toady’s most demanding quality assurance and process verification programs, particularly ISO 9000.

INDUCTION MELTING FURNACES & POWER SUPPLIES
The MELTVAK product line is constructed standard with either 5lb, 17lb, 30lb, 50lb, l00lb, and 200lb melt crucibles. Other sizes are readily available across CLC’s product line since many systems support the interchange of multiple coil sizes. Each system is furnished complete with internal trunion mounts, bearing support, and rotary vacuum feedthrus to support high vacuum melting applications.CLC’s MELTVAK furnace coils are fabricated from highest purity refractory materials for long life and protection against melt contamination.
MELTVAK systems are normally furnished with manual and (where necessary) hydraulic-assisted tilt/pour mechanisms. CLC’s most advanced MELTVAK systems are available with fully automated tilt/pour systems with full capability of “Teach & Pour”. Large diameter viewports are conveniently located in the wall of the vacuum vessel to accommodate viewing of the process melt operations. Casting molds are manipulated into pouring position with turntable support and a rotary/lift manipulator assembly.
To support the most advanced melting and casting operations, CLC’s systems are constructed with vacuum isolated accessories such as a bridge breaker, late alloy additions, sample taker, and others. For high production applications, CLC provides a vacuum isolated mold lock vessel which allows full loading and unloading operations without breaking the controlled high vacuum or controlled atmosphere of the main process chamber. Today’s most advanced superalloys require the use of our innovative mold heating accessories and controlled mold cooling accessories to support high technological demands of advanced materials production.
